Éminence facials — frequently asked questions

Where can I experience Éminence Organics in downtown Toronto?

At Unwind Spa, 317 King Street West, 2nd floor (King West) — an authorized Éminence partner offering Éminence facials and retail.

What is an organic facial?

A facial built around certified-organic Éminence products, tailored to your skin after a short consultation rather than a fixed menu.

How long is a facial, and what does it cost?

Facials run from 30 to 90 minutes, starting at $85 for the Express facial. See the menu on this page for all options and pricing.

Do I need to book ahead?

Booking ahead is recommended. Facials are booked at tonailstouch.ca, our sister site at the same address. Walk-ins are welcome when there’s availability.

Is this suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes. Every facial is customized; if a stronger exfoliation isn’t right for you that day, your esthetician uses a gentler approach.

Prescribed to your skin, not to a menu.

Every facial starts with a consultation. Your esthetician reads the skin you arrived with — not the skin you had last month — and builds the treatment around it.

We work with Éminence Organic Skin Care, hand-blended in Hungary since 1958 from certified-organic fruits, vegetables and herbs. The line changes with the season, which means so does your facial.

Unhurried, start to finish. No selling from the treatment bed.

Three ways to book

30 minutes

Express Éminence Organic Facial

$85

A consultation, a double cleanse, a seasonal exfoliation and a masque chosen for the skin you arrive with — finished with moisturiser, eye care and mineral SPF. A complete treatment at its own pace, and the natural partner to a head spa.

60 minutes

Classic Éminence Organic Custom Facial

$165

The full European facial, unhurried. Deep cleanse, seasonal exfoliation, extractions where your skin is ready for them, and a Hungarian massage that works the facial muscles rather than gliding over them. Two masques, layered, then serum, moisturiser, eye and lip care chosen for your skin on the day.

90 minutes

Head Spa & Express Facial

$190

Our Signature Head Spa — shiatsu scalp massage, deep scalp cleanse, double hair wash, nourishing hair mask, halo water ritual and a light blow dry — followed by the Express Éminence Organic Facial. Ninety minutes on the two places that hold the most tension. Booked together it saves $15.

How a facial is built here

Most facials follow a fixed sequence. Ours follows your skin. The steps below are the frame — what changes is which product goes into each one, and your esthetician decides that at the start, not from a menu.

1. Consultation. Two or three minutes looking at the skin you actually arrived with. Skin moves — a week of poor sleep, a change in the weather, a new retinol, a flight. The facial you had in June is not automatically the facial you need in November.

2. Double cleanse. The first pass removes makeup, sunscreen and the day. The second one actually cleans the skin. Almost nobody does two at home, and it is the reason a professional cleanse feels different.

3. Seasonal exfoliation. Éminence reformulates around what is in season, so the exfoliant in spring is not the one we use in January. Strength is matched to your barrier, not to a standard setting — reactive skin gets an enzyme, resilient skin can take more.

4. Extractions, where the skin is ready. In the Classic facial only, and only where they will help. A congested pore that is ready comes away easily. One that is not will bruise and mark, so we leave it and treat the cause instead. We will tell you which is which rather than working through your face in silence.

5. Hungarian facial massage. This is the part that separates a European facial from a product application. It works the facial muscles rather than gliding over the surface — jaw, temples, the flat of the cheek, the band across the forehead. It is also where most people stop talking and fall asleep.

6. Masque, or two. The Classic layers two: one to treat, one to seal. The Express takes one, chosen for the day.

7. Finish. Serum, moisturiser, eye care, and lip care in the Classic. Mineral SPF on the Express, because sending you back out onto King West at noon with freshly exfoliated skin and no protection would undo the hour.

Every facial ends with home care advice, and it is usually shorter than people expect. Two or three products used consistently beat a shelf of them used occasionally.

Which facial suits your skin

Dry, tight or mature skin. The Classic, most of the time. The Hungarian massage does real work on circulation and the layered masques put moisture back in stages rather than all at once. If your skin feels tight by mid-afternoon, that is usually dehydration rather than dryness — a different problem with a different fix, and we will show you which one you have.

Oily, congested or breakout-prone skin. The Classic again, because extractions live there. But the honest answer is that one facial will not clear congestion that took months to build. It will clear what is ready to come out, calm the inflammation, and start the routine that does the rest.

Sensitive or reactive skin. Either treatment, with the exfoliation stepped down and the masques chosen for calm rather than activity. Tell us what has reacted before — that is more useful than a skin-type label.

Combination skin. Treated in zones, which is exactly what a custom facial is for. A clarifying masque across the T-zone and something richer on the cheeks, in the same appointment.

Never had a professional facial. Start with the Express at $85. Thirty minutes, no extractions, nothing aggressive — and a complete treatment rather than a trimmed-down one. If you like it, the Classic is there next time.

Short on time, or already booked for a head spa. The Express was built for both. Booked with the Signature Head Spa as the 90-minute pairing it is $190, which saves $15 against booking the two separately, and it is the single most popular thing we do.

Why we chose Éminence

Éminence Organic Skin Care has been hand-blending in Hungary since 1958, from organically grown fruits, vegetables and herbs, with its North American home in Vancouver. Two things made it the right line for this room.

It changes with the season. Because the formulas are built around fresh produce rather than a fixed lab recipe, the range genuinely shifts through the year. That sounds like marketing until you have had a stone crop treatment in August and a coconut one in February and felt the difference.

It is broad enough to actually customise. We can build a route through the same treatment for congested skin, reactive skin and mature skin without reaching for a second brand. That is what makes a custom facial custom.

We are an authorised Éminence stockist and keep 45 products on the shelf upstairs, so whatever your esthetician used on you is available to take home — though we would rather you left with two things that work than five that sit in a drawer. You can see the full range and where to find us, or browse the shop.

Before you book

How much is a facial in Toronto?
Ours run $85 for the 30-minute Express, $165 for the 60-minute Classic Custom, and $190 for the 90-minute head spa and facial pairing. Prices exclude HST.

How long does a facial take?
Thirty minutes for the Express, sixty for the Classic. Both include the consultation — the clock does not start after it.

Is a 30-minute facial worth it?
Yes, if it is built as a 30-minute treatment rather than a shortened 60. Ours is: consultation, double cleanse, exfoliation, masque, moisturiser, eye care and SPF. What it does not include is extractions and the long massage.

Do you do extractions?
In the Classic, where the skin is ready for them. We will not force a pore that is not.

Will my face be red afterwards?
Usually a little flushed from the massage and circulation, and that settles within an hour or so. We do not run aggressive peels, so you should not leave visibly raw.

Can I have a facial if I use retinol or tretinoin?
Yes, but stop three to five days before and tell us. It changes which exfoliant we use.

How often should I come?
Every four to six weeks matches the skin cycle. Every season is enough to be worth doing.

Do you sell to me during the treatment?
No. Home care is discussed at the end, once you are upright.

Where are you?
317 King Street West, second floor, above TO. Nails Touch, in King West. Four minutes from St Andrew station. Call (647) 953-4372 or get in touch.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

What to expect

Come a few minutes early. Your esthetician will ask about your skin, what you use at home, and anything that has changed recently. The treatment is decided from that conversation.

If your skin is not ready for extractions that day, we will not force them. If a stronger exfoliation is not right for you, we use a gentler one. That is what custom means here.

You will leave with advice on how to look after your skin at home.
