Pigmentation is slow to shift and easy to make worse, which is why the brightening agent here matters. Instead of hydroquinone, this masque uses Eminence’s Natural Hydroquinone Alternative — African potato and tara tree — alongside licorice root and bearberry, three of the better-tolerated botanical brighteners.
It is a treatment step rather than a daily one, and it works best used consistently over weeks rather than intensively over days.
Who it suits
Normal to dry skin dealing with hyperpigmentation, sun spots, melasma or post-blemish marks. If your skin is oily or congested, the Clear Skin Probiotic Masque is the better fit.
What is in it, and why
- Natural Hydroquinone Alternative — African potato and tara tree; a botanical brightening agent
- Licorice root — soothes dry skin and addresses the look of uneven tone
- Bearberry extract — antioxidant that brightens the appearance of dark spots
- Stone crop — hydrates and revitalises the look of uneven skin tone; calms the look of redness
- Swiss Alpine plant extracts — antioxidant blend that restores the appearance of luminosity
How to use it
Apply an even layer to cleansed skin and leave for the time stated on the pack, then rinse. Two to three times a week is enough. Brightening work is undone by unprotected sun exposure, so daily SPF is not optional with this one.
What to pair it with
Pairs naturally with the Bright Skin Licorice Root Booster-Serum and a daily mineral SPF. Browse Masques, Serums & Oils and Mineral Sun Care.
